ABOUT audrey

My photographic adventure began in circa 1980’s San Diego taking candids of friends eating lunch under trees for my middle school yearbook. Shooting for the UCLA Daily Bruin set me on a path to two summer internships at the Seattle Times and the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Meeting interesting people with stories to tell was the best part of that work.

I took a pause to complete my studies and begin work as a physical therapist. After our first kid arrived, I launched Audrey Lee Photography in 2006 and began photographing families in San Diego.

Kids grow fast and get busy. Parents get busier. We moved to Seattle in 2009 and I took another pause to spend the next 15 years driving kids around in every direction. Suddenly, somehow, my two girls have grown up and are preparing to leave the home, one by one.

I’m now ready to return to the space where I thrive, where I make striking images of some interesting people. This is the reboot I’ve been waiting for. Audrey Lee Photography returns with a focus on young adult portraiture. High school seniors are at such a complex and fascinating milestone of their lives-so much of what they look forward to they have no idea what it will be. I am here to chronicle this treasured time.
